Our Story

Meet the owners

Mother and Daughter duo, Deb and Amy purchased the preschool in 2021, and over many busy weekends we renovated the preschool into the beautiful space we have now. We are super lucky to have so many helping hands to share in the Mahi.

We opened the doors to our lovely Centre in July 2021 and continue to welcome children and Whānau of all backgrounds to our preschool family.

With 40 years experience in early childhood education we wanted to provide a home away from home for children. With a nurturing and caring atmosphere.

Playground demolition

A big weekend of hard mahi but very rewarding to clear the first out around the playground. Unfortunately we encountered some unexpected brickwork that had to be smashed.

We also moved the Whare to its new location more accessible for the children, and removed the poles.

New bark for the playground

The next big job we undertook was replacing the bark. Initially we were excited about truck coming with our new bark but that excitement wore thin on the fourth load and after moving 35 cubic metres by hand.

Demolishing and renovating the bathrooms

Things were slowly taking shape as we undertook the largest job yet, demolishing and renovating the bathrooms.

Walls were removed, sinks were re-plumbed, all thanks to our many hands on deck. We are so thankful for our incredible plumber for the amazing mahi he has done.

A fresh coat of paint

Next up we removed and repaired old shelving units, patched up and repainted the walls, and ceilings, and skirting boards.

After many days of painting, and many trips to the hardware store, the inside was looking beautiful, ready for us to move the furniture back in.

New Asphalt and Grass

It was an exciting day when the concrete roller came to visit us, the little ones watched safely from inside.

After that, new grass was installed, making our massive back yard look beautiful.
